Abstrakt: | A biography of Czech journalist and translator Milena Jesenská is presented. Her childhood and adolescence were marked by the illness of her mother as well as by the usurpatory and unbalanced love of her father. She was first married to bank plenipotentiary Ernst Polak and moved with him in Vienna, Austria. The birth of her daughter Honza in 1928, severe illness and drug addiction resulted in the decline of her career in journalism and also in the break-up of her second marriage with communist Count Xaver Schaffgotsch in 1933. |
