The article discusses the attribution of sapphism on the development of French film between 20th and 21st century. According to the author, majority of motion pictures in the country depicts the cultural liability of lesbian figure and characters which represents a symbolic acceptance of lesbianism as a cinematic image that reflects realities. It also cites different films that presents the characteristics of lesbian along with is production elements, structure as well as settings. In addition, the author notes that films are silent regarding the aspect of lesbian and gay parenthood, marriage and equal relationship rights. |
