Abstrakt: Over the past decade Israel has experienced dramatic change in the legitimization of same-sex relationships. Moreover, in recent years specialized organizations and services targeted toward LGBT youth were established. Using large-scale survey data of the Israeli LGBT community (N=2853), we explore self-reported needs and preferences for social services across three cohorts: youngest (born after 1985); intermediate (born 1979-1985) and oldest (born before 1979). We find few differences between cohorts: respondents from the young cohort (born after 1985) are more inclined to engagement and involvement within the LGBT community than older cohorts. However, these findings are consistent with the ageing thesis rather than with the cohort thesis. At this time, our results suggest that the New Gay Teenager hypothesis (Savin-Williams, 2005) is not valid in the Israeli case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
