An interview with saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist Peter Freeman is presented. When asked what saxophone teacher Abe Kestenberg stressed in his saxophone lessons, Freeman cites the principles of sound production as well as working on getting his vibrato going. When asked whether the desire to play jazz had anything to do with him starting on tenor and not alto, Freeman says no because for him it was strictly classical at the beginning. He also relates how it feels to have a Woodwind and Brass Festival named for him. |
