Abstrakt: Despite the convenience of seed treatments for the management of early season pests, development of effective formulations is complex and requires the expertise of many scientists. Problems that can be associated with formulating a seed treatment include the ability to package enough active ingredients of multiple compounds with different modes of action and chemistries around a small seed to remain effective. Additionally, much work must be done to insure that the mixture of compounds adheres effectively to the seed and that no phytotoxicity is associated with the product. This presentation will focus on the physical and chemical challenges and practical solutions that go into formulating a successful seed treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
