Abstrakt: The response of nematicides across various soil bulk electrical conductivity zones (SEC) in cotton fields was evaluated in this study. The Gin Ridge site was set up using two nematicides (Telone at 3 gal/A and Temik 15%G at 3.5 lbs/A) alone or together and with or without Cruiser seed treatment. The complete test was repeated ten times across a changing series of SEC zones (11-32 mS/m). Telone gave the greatest yield response with or without Cruiser as a seed treatment. The combination of Temik alone or in combination with Telone in the Cruiser seed treatment appeared to be detrimental to the plants and yields were reduced across tests and SEC zones. Differences between nematicide treatments decreased as SEC levels increased. The Levee field was treated with Telone at 3 gals/A and Temik 15%G at 3.5 lbs/A alone or in combination as a strip plot trial in a producer's field. Nematode populations and SEC estimates had been established the previous fall. The field was divided into seven SEC zones (8-24 mS/m). Cotton yield was obtained using a yield monitor and determined for each treatment in each of the zones. Telone alone or in combination with Temik were the highest yielding treatments. The greatest differences among the treatments were found at the lower SEC levels. Differences decreased among treatments with higher SEC levels and indicate the potential for better delineating yield response zones with the use of nematicides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
