Delta and Pine Land Company will introduce three new BG/RR varieties, DP 445 BG/RR, DP 454 BG/RR and DP 455 BG/RR for the 2006 growing season. These new varieties have shown improved yield and fiber quality potential over other currently available BG/RR's in their respective maturity ranges. Average Beltwide yield increases over currently available BG/RR's (DP 444 BG/RR, FM 960 BG/RR, ST 5242 BG/RR and ST 5599 BG/RR) for DP 445 BG/RR have ranged from 1.9% to 7.4%. Average Beltwide yield increases for DP 454 BG/RR over currently available BG/RR's (DP 449 BG/RR, DP 555 BG/RR and ST 5599 BG/RR) have ranged from 0.5% to 2.3%. Average Beltwide yield increases for DP 455 BG/RR over currently available BG/RR's (DP 449 BG/RR, DP 488 BG/RR and ST 4575 BG/RR) have ranged from 2.3% to 4.8%. Staple length, Micronaire, Strength (g/tex), and Uniformity ratios have averaged 36.3, 4.27, 31.4 and 83.2 respectively for DP 445 BG/RR (n=563). These same fiber quality measurements have averaged 35.4, 3.99, 29.7 and 82.6 respectively for DP 454 BG/RR (n=239). DP 455 BG/RR has averaged 36.4, 4.11, 30.8 and 82.4 (n=462) respectively for the same fiber qualities mentioned previously. CCC Loan prices for DP 445 BG/RR, DP 454 BG/RR and DP 455 BG/RR have averaged 55.07, 53.31 and 55.12 cents (n=264), respectively from trials where all 3 products were present, based on the 2005 Loan Chart.
