The article explores the history of the Texas Tech University (TTU) administration's attempt to control an underground student newspaper called "The Catalyst" and how it provides a historical understanding of higher education in the Southern States. It cites the lawsuit "Channing Club v. The Board of Regents of Texas Tech University" as legal precedent in similar press censorship cases. It provides a historical background and climate of the unrest during the 1960s to comprehend administrative perceptions of "The Catalyst." It says that the TTU Code of Student Affairs became the primary tool used by the administrators in their intentions of regulating the student newspaper. |
