Abstrakt: Chapter 5 of the book "Brave New Classrooms: Democratic Education & the Internet," edited by Joe Lockard and Mark Pegrum is presented. The author warns the public aginst the danger of electronic learning being driven by an economic agenda. She believes that the Internet has the power to provide a democratic space where students are exposed to various discourses and ideas. Lastly, she cautions about the potential that the development of hybrid courses is being driven by corrupt practices.
