Abstrakt: The article discusses topic related to the human papillomavirus (HPV) in the U.S. It states that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide. The highest risk of invasive cervical cancer occurs sooner than most other types of adult cancer, reaching a plateau from about 35 to 55 years of age. In addition, this plateau occurs because cervical cancer originates primarily from HPV infections transmitted sexually in late adolescence or in early adulthood.
