Talking about Race.

Abstrakt: The article offers a guide for Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) leaders to talking about race issues in the U.S. It provides a background of race discrimination in the nation. It discusses the evolution of terms related to race such as "people of color" for people of non-Caucasian backgrounds, and "ethnicity" as an alternative to race. It outlines examples of race discrimination faced by children of color, including attending inequitable schools, subjected to racial slurs and incidents and faced with biased curriculum and standardized testing.
