A low NOx flat flame self-recuperative burner, based on the Gasdynamic Abated Flame Temperature (GAFT) principle, is presented. The new burner was tested for a 50 kW load in a 1000 × 1000 × 800 mm combustion chamber of inner wall temperature up to 1200°C. Experiments have shown that when the combustion air is preheated up to 500°C, a zero value of NO was observed. The modelling confirms qualitatively the experimental NO results, however much lower NO concentration was calculated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
