The article reports that the support of the native voters in the U.S. has contributed to the victory of President-elect Barack Obama. It says that in Oklahoma Indian Country, only the homes of the Winnebago and Omaha tribes have supported Obama. It mentions that the election was record breaking since there were 23 American Indian candidates won in their state and local elections. Several Democrats who won the local election are mentioned including Don Barlo, Senator Albert Hale and Jerry McPeak. |
