Abstrakt:	This study seeks to determine the bargaining-power characteristics exhibited by subsidiaries of U.S- based multinational corporations operating in Nigeria between 1975 and 1985. Data for this study were collected from a sample of 167 U.S. multinational corporations. A survey questionnaire was mailed to managers or senior executive in charge of international operations for each of the selected multinational corporations. A total of twenty seven usable responses were received. The results of the study indicated that the U.S.-based multinational corporations did not possess strong bargaining power.
