The article focuses on a national research network on multifunctional protective clothing in the U.S. The network consists of a group of experienced researchers and manufacturers who conduct research on multifunctional protective clothing and materials for firefighters, paramedics and policemen. It aims to create a database and related standards of chemical and biological protective materials and clothing for first responders. Several universities, including the University of California, Davis, Cornell University, Maryland University at Eastern Shore and the University of Minnesota are cooperating with the network. |
