Chapter 10 of the book "Women & Welfare: Theory & Practice in the United States and Europe" is presented. The chapter examines the issues of employment support, income transfers, and family poverty in thirteen industrialized countries with an analysis of varying government policies aimed at improving economic outcomes for families, and promoting continued employment for women. It cites that families with children are more economically challenged due to the cost of care required to raise children, and indirectly creates barriers to employment of women. |
