The article discusses the involvement of parents in children's mental health system called System of Care (SOC) in Hillsborough County in Tampa, Florida. It describes efforts to include family members, who have children with a serious emotional disturbance, in every aspect of SOC. A significant accomplishment of the Tampa-Hillsborough Integrated Network for Kids (THINK) was said to be hiring families as case managers. It is noted that utilizing families has enhanced the quality level of service delivery in the community. |
