| Abstrakt: | This article presents the highlights of the career of Brian Close as a cricketer. Close boasts of a career tally of 800 or more catches, many taken as he stood fearlessly closely to the batsmen. Close played in an era when fielders close to the stumps did not wear helmets, shin-pads or any other form of body armour. |
