A conference paper on the riparian management programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council to improve water quality in the Taranaki Region in New Zealand is presented. It presents the effect of intense dairy farming and agriculture to riparian margins, waterways and vegetation, which reduced the water quality water sources. It presents the riparian strategy which involved education and advocacy of farmers matched with a plant scheme that provides farmers with quality native plants. |
