The author reflects on the U.S. and French perception of writer Guy Debord. The author notes the examination of Debord's work and its analytical potential by certain departments of Urban Studies or Social Geography in Great Britain. He asserts that Debord was a passionate thinker who lived on an ethical project in search of its political correlative. He adds that Debord have the same totality that characterized the Lettriste movement but he sees the need to develop an account of the way the capitalist economy affects the free movement of desire. |
