Chapter 7 of the book "Stable Isotopes as Indicators of Ecological Change," by Dena M. Vallano and Jed P. Sparks, is presented. It discusses the use of foliar δ15 nitrogen values as a tool for determining the magnitude and impact of gaseous reactive nitrogen directly entering the foliage vegetation. It describes the current understanding of foliar δ15 nitrogen values to provide a background on which foliar uptake of reactive nitrogen can be considered. |
