Abstrakt: Information on floor-scale experiments to determine uranium concentration in natural groundwater, from chapter 5 of the book "Long-Term Performance of Permeable Reactive Barriers," is presented. For these experiments, test boxes were installed and operated in the building of Mecsek Ore Environment Co., which is situated on the former uranium ore milling site near Pécs, Hungary. From that site, effluent from a mine water treatment plant was used for the tests. Tests using elemental iron, steel fibres and hydroxyapatite (HAP) are discussed.
