Chapter 13 of the book "Libraries and Learning Resource Centres" is presented. The importance of the library is highlighted along with the words and forms associated with its building type. Lessons from the library at Alexandria in Egypt are presented with its significance to modern practice. Challenges for future designs are discussed including the emerging new typology for the library and learning resource centre. |
