Chapter 16 of the book "Continuous Productive Urban Landscapes: Designing Urban Agriculture for Sustainable Cities" is presented. The chapter focuses on the experience of urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) in Havana, Cuba. The main characteristics, causes of origin and antecedents of urban agriculture in the country are also discussed. The authors mention the distinctive role of urban agriculture in the economic development of Cuba. |
