Chapter 15 of the book "Future Forms and Design for Sustainable Cities" is presented. It clarifies the meaning of density by tracing some of the ideas behind housing density standards in Great Britain. It highlights difficulties in measuring density, for there is no common method or definition. Analyzed over time, government records yield density standards, namely high densities and the recommended urban forms related with varying standards. |
