Chapter 1.1 of the book "Broadcast Engineer's Reference Book" is presented. It discusses the different quantities and the units associated with each. Particular focus is given to the International System of Units (SI), a modern form of metric system agreed at an international conference in 1960. According to the article, SI has been adopted by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The seven base units of SI like length, mass, and time are also discussed. |
