Chapter 2 of the book "Bricks and Stones From the Past: Jamaica's Geological Heritage" is presented. It provides an overview of the legacies of the 1700s found in the large number of built structures in Jamaica. Brick and limestone dating back to the Victorian period in England are said to be found in about sixty percent of its surface area. Tower mills and churches are cited as legacies of the colonial past, along with arches, bridges, aqueducts, coastal fortifications, even old stables and coach house that was converted to a Folk Museum. |
