Chapter 18 of the book "Applied Principles of Horticultural Science" is presented. It focuses on plant nutrition stating that like other living things, plants also need nutrition for their food and development. A list of plant nutrients from the atmosphere or soil water including carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O), as well as plant nutrients from the soil/growth medium including nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), is presented. The function of plant nutrients and the role of the major nutrients are discussed. |
