Abstrakt: The article presents a comparison of the machine-based woks of automobile pioneer Henry Ford and artist Charles Sheeler. While Ford is known as an inventive mechanic, Sheeler is a modernist artist who was influenced by European painting, architecture and design. Both of them focused on the industrial power of America, resulting to converging works, with Ford supporting the outdoor museum Greenfield Village and Sheeler producing such paintings as "Home Sweet Home," juxtaposing Shaker objects and modern industrial products.
