The Dancer in Cambodia.

Abstrakt: The article offers a look at the new generation of dancers in Cambodia. The cultural heritage of Cambodian dancers are being passed to a new generation of artists. There had been concerns among older artists that they may not live long enough to share their singular skills and knowledge. The Brahmanic ceremony called sampeah kru reflects the power and significance of the teacher-student bond in the handling down of accumulated wisdom. It is noted that the ceremony is integral to the life and training of a Khmer dancer.
