A common control law design problem has been specified based on a military aicraft configuration as part of GARTEUR Action Group AG-08 on "Robust Flight Control". The aircraft mathematical model description is accompanied by a set of design specifications for a wide flight envelope control law. The design specifications are mirrored by a set of evaluation criteria to facilitate comparison of different design methods. The design challenge document also presents participants with a list of attributes, covering the design method, design process and resultant controller, which they should report on to provide a balanced assessment of the complete development of their control law in addition to a presentation of results.
