Abstrakt: The article discusses furnishings at accommodations provided for tourists at national parks in the U.S. The hotels and inns at several national parks including Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, and the Grand Canyon are examined. Though situated in rustic settings, most of the accommodations did not contain rustic furniture. Rustic pine and hickory rockers and armchairs were often used in the lodgings. Taxidermy and Japanese lanterns were also used in some hotels. The impact of automobiles on the accommodations are explored.
