The article features Cuban artist Agustín Bejarano and his body of work. The artist received the First Prize in the Encuentro Nacional de Grabado in 1987 for his transfer painting "Kate," an event which is said to have destroyed many borders and made significant breaks with the stereotypes and vices of a tradition that was questioned and revitalized. Bejarano is considered one of the first Cuban artists to transform printmaking into a three-dimensional act of installation. With "Brisas del alma," Bejarano showed a new technique that involved engraving on plastic and punching with sewing needles to enable greater detail. |
