Abstrakt: The article presents profiles of video artist Shigeko Kubota in New York. In 1960's, Kubota graduated from Tokyo University with a degree in sculpture. In 1964, she became involved with the avant-garde Fluxus group of several artists including Yoko Ono, George Maciunas, and Alan Kaprow, in which she became the chairman of the organization that produced performances, environmental artworks, and printed matter experiments. In 1972, she made the first of her ongoing video diaries entitled "Europe on a half inch a day," which describes the experience of making the tape.
