The article profiles sculptor and painter Bailey Bob Bailey. The author comments on reasons that Bailey changed his name from Bob Bailey to Bailey Bob Bailey and how Bailey's work transcends classification into art styles such as sculpture, painting or printing. She notes Bailey's use of industrial foam to create paintings and how the use of artistic rules by artist Sol LeWitt has influenced Bailey's art techniques. She discusses Bailey's wooden relief sculptures and notes that they often incorporate recognizable symbols and shapes and feature musical accompaniment. She comments on an action painting by Bailey that incorporates foam found on a beach. |
