Abstrakt: The article examines the work of Carlo Zinelli, a classic art brut artist. Zinelli is one of the most fascinating and complex personalities among the more important artists whose works reflect the ideas of l'art brut elaborated by Jean Dubuffet. Zinelli's work is unusual not only for its exceptional inventiveness and stylistic independence but also for the aesthetic and cultural components that form it, which would seem to contradict his modest origins and the circumstances in which his art developed. His art is characterized by a coherent and homogeneous stylistic development, allowing his creative route to be interpreted as a complex and articulated process of invention and elaboration of a strictly personal form of writing.
