Abstrakt: More than 500 houses were demolished in the Palestinian neighborhoods of East Jerusalem between 1987 and 2004. Every house demolished is also a family left in ruin, a family that has lost not only the roof over its head but most of its savings too, not to mention the place where its memories dwelt or where its future dreams were invested. Over 500 demolished houses means thousands of people, all residents of the city of Jerusalem, who had to pay a high price for the conduct of their city's planning system; a system which they do not understand, and which does not display much understanding of them.
