Abstrakt: The article reviews and assesses a variety of photographic and other techniques for rock art recording. The article presents background information on rock art recordings in Canada, which includes assessments by various experts and the difficulty of recording Petroglyphs (Rock Carvings). The article continues by presenting an overview to recording rock paintings (pictographs), camera format and approach, controlling light for photographic imaging, rendering color according to temperature, use of electronic flash, cross-polarization, and various other camera techniques.
