The author suggests that the Tower of Babel was constructed in line with man's search for a name. The author claims that the construction of the enormous structure was the result of man's despair for a name and that it was not a result of pride. The author speculates that the Tower of Babel was built based on the belief that by building a tower that would reach the heavens, man might acquire a name. The author argues that God had decided to punish man by dispersing them across the earth and by confusing their languages. |
