The present paper provides the rationale for the ways of creating cutting-edge universal services multi-service access networks. It addresses possible ways of integrating foreign experience into implementing digital broadcasting in Ukraine, taking into account the transition period specificity, as well as microwave, terrestrial, satellite and cable networks operation. Some promising results regarding DVBT digital broadcasting pilot zone operating within 470-862MHz located in Kyiv and Odessa are considered. The details and prospects of Ukrainian MITRIS, UMDS, and UWDS-based broadband wireless technology implementation (ranges: 10150-10300 MHz, 10500-10600 MHz, 11700-12500 MHz) are also discussed. The results of microwave digital TV broadcasting and data transmission project implementation (as part of UWDS system project) in the Crimea are highlighted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
