Abstrakt: The article offers information on the dressmakers in Worthing, England from 1920 to 1950. Esther Rothstein's career in dressmaking started after World War I. Gladyis Stonier became an apprentice to Joan Laurie in 1921. At 18, Edith Varndell would travel to London once a week to learn how to design. Dorothy Heffer also became Lauries apprentice when she was 14 in 1927.
