| Abstrakt: | The article offers information on the Gold Belt Scenic Byway located in the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado. Shelf Road, the middle leg of the byway, was completed in Cañon City in 1892. It is stated that the eastern part Phantom Canyon Road goes along the right-of-way of the old Gold Belt Line of the Florence & Cripple Greek Railroad. The highway U.S. 50 west of Cañon City is a section of the byway and leads to Colorado State Route 9, the western leg of the byway. |
