Abstrakt: Cytogenetic analysis of neoplastic lymphoid tissues isolated from humans typically reveals chromosomal abnormalities. Although direct causal relationships between specific genetic anomalies and tumorigenesis are complex, these relationships are probably better defined for hematological diseases than for solid tumors. Observations on large numbers of hematological tumors have resulted in the description of numerous nonrandom genetic lesions that are associated with specific and well-defined tumors.
