Between November 1, 1990 and December 31, 2002 a total of 3185 internal fixations with cannulated screws were performed at the National Institute of Traumatology (Budapest) and between June 1, 1997 and May 30, 2000 a total of 205 cannulated screw fixation were done at the Trauma Department of the Hanover Medical School, Hanover-Germany (Bosch et al, 2002).
