Abstrakt: Precision starts with the limitation of uncertainty. Any precision structure has a number of elastic and rigid elements, each of which may contribute to the system's combined uncertainty. Combined uncertainty usually increases with the increase of the element's number in the system, but some elements can work as compensators, which decreases the combined uncertainty. Moreover, the system can have a permanent structure or a changeable one. The latter is typical for universal machines and measuring systems that include the changeable object of treatment or measurement, which has different informative (to be measured) and uninformative features than the calibration standard used for the adjustment and calibration.
