The article presents information on 'Hollywood Performance Art,' a term given by choreographer Rudy Perez of Los Angeles, California. The term refers to a genre which recognizes itself as dominated by the mass media industries of Los Angeles. It is stated that all performance art done in Hollywood is quoted as Hollywood Art. The major features of Hollywood Performance Art include mass media-derived imagery, exploitation, framing of theatrical craft, and excessivity. The genre can thus be identified as the application of mass media imagery and formats to the stage. |
