Abstrakt: The article provides information on the homestead built by African Americans for people like them as well as the history of Aberdeen Gardens Elementary School in Hampton, Virginia. Residents of Aberdeen gardens and their families were among the original homesteaders of the School. It had its origins in the desperate uncertainty of the Great Depression.
