The article presents a history of glass art in India, and then discusses different types of glass art found in India, including beads, bangles, and glassware. Glass found in India dates as far back as 600 B.C., yet today, technologically, glass making in India is not very advanced because it is still passed down through the generations and production methods remain for the most part unchanged. Most pieces are made in small handcrafted furnaces. The author also mentions mold blown glassware, mirror chip mosaics, and glass bead curtains. |
