Abstrakt: The article discusses the impact of historic preservation on tourism planning and development in the U.S. Older cities in the country contributes to the growth of historic preservation in luring tourists who recognize the cities' culture and character. Revitalization and recycling of the industrial buildings and factory dictricts in the cities are cited as among the benefits of tourism development. Other factors involved in tourism planning and development are also discussed.
