Abstrakt: The solar corona must be built up by a large number of small scale current sheets where magnetic energy is efficiently dissipated. In this paper we discuss possible mechanisms responsible for the formation of such small scales and we support the idea that different aspects of solar activity can be understood within the unifying framework of MHD turbulence.
